Living with chronic pain can make everything seem harder. In my case, I was tired of waking up in pain every day, organizing life around my limitations, and wasting money on treatments that didn’t seem to make a difference — or came with unwanted side effects and risks. I was tired of being tired. 

If pain is your constant companion and you just want to feel well enough to do the things you love, you’re not alone. I’m Paula K. Dumas, author and advocate for people in pain. What I’ve learned — from both my own journey with chronic pain and the thousands of people I’ve worked with — is that although pain will test you in every way, it doesn’t have to keep you on the sidelines of life.
